SEATTLE, Nov. 01, 2018 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- CodeDay, a 24-hour programming event hosted seasonally in 50 cities, is partnering with Splunk to train thousands of high school students in cybersecurity at its November 10-11 events.
Training takes the form of "CodeCup," a two-hour session where students from each city compete to hack into simulated computers, as well as detect other hackers using real-world tools, such as Splunk's threat detection platform.
More "Mr. Robot" than high school lecture, the city-vs-city competition puts students in tense situations which cybersecurity professionals face each day. Over 2,000 students are expected to participate this Nov 10.
Splunk, the data analytics company that helps organizations ask questions, get answers, take actions and achieve business outcomes from their data, believes that the importance of cybersecurity in the tech industry will only continue to grow.
