Center for Autism and Related Disorders Alexandria Academy Highlights Generosity of D|Watts Construction Company
ALEXANDRIA, Va. (PRWEB) January 09, 2019 -- Teachers, students, and parents at the Center for Autism and Related Disorders (CARD) Academy in Alexandria were surprised and delighted when the D|Watts Construction Company delivered holiday cheer in the form of presents to CARD’s students, parents, and staff this holiday season.
As part of their community support project, D|Watts employees treated the children of CARD Alexandria Academy to personalized gifts and toys, as well as gift cards for parents, filling the front lobby with bright Christmas gifts and packages.
“When our office suite neighbors at D|Watts asked if they could give our students gifts for the holidays, we didn’t imagine such personal and generous items for our children,” said Michelle Abramsohn, operations manager at the CARD Academy Alexandria. “D|Watts gave the children large stuffed animals, mega trucks, video games, art sets, and puzzles personalized to each child’s needs and wants, as well as gift cards for our parents. The people at D|Watts filled our hearts with gratitude, and we can’t thank them enough.”
CARD Academy in Alexandria serves students of all ages from the surrounding communities and values the opportunity for students and their families to interact with local businesses in such a positive way.
“A core value of D|Watts is giving back to our communities and those around us, and when one of our team members suggested we all chip in and buy gifts for the kids at CARD, it was a no-brainer,” said David Doherty, principal of D|Watts. “We couldn’t be more proud of our team and their contributions.”
