2019 iaedp™ Symposium: Call for Artists for "Imagine Me Beyond What You See" Art Competition
The International Association of Eating Disorders Professionals (iaedp™) Foundation is seeking artists and art therapists within treatment centers or private practice to participate in its 9th annual "Imagine Me Beyond What You See" body image mannequin art competition with submissions accepted beginning Monday, October 15, 2018.
PEKIN, Ill., Aug. 24, 2018 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- The International Association of Eating Disorders Professionals (iaedp™) Foundation is seeking artists and art therapists within treatment centers or private practice to participate in its 9th annual "Imagine Me Beyond What You See" body image mannequin art competition with submissions accepted beginning Monday, October 15, 2018. The final deadline for submission is December 15, 2018. The winner and finalists will be announced during the 2019 iaedp™ Symposium, which will be held on February 7-10, 2019 at the JW Marriott Desert Springs Resort in Palm Desert, California.
"Every year something magical and meaningful happens during the transformative process of creating, completing and then sharing their mannequin art while describing its body image significance," says Blanche Williams, Assistant Managing Director at the iaedp™ Foundation. "Participants are amazed at how simple yet powerful our ongoing theme is, 'Imagine Me Beyond What You See.' The response from audiences has been overwhelming as people are moved by the depth of courage and heartfelt expression displayed. We look forward another unforgettable year."
The mixed-medium works are judged on clarity of theme, creativity and originality, quality of composition and design and the overall impression and presentation of the artwork. The Imagine Me Beyond What You See Awards Ceremony also includes the Professionals' Choice Award, which is selected through online and onsite attendee voting by 2019 Symposium attendees.
