Students from fifteen countries vied for the unique opportunity to present innovative new wellness business concepts -- and compete for $10,000 in prize money -- at a conference in Tel Aviv October 31-November 3
MIAMI, Oct. 3, 2022 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- The Global Wellness Summit (GWS), the most prestigious conference on the $4.4 trillion business of wellness, today announced the three student finalists selected to present their wellness business concepts to a panel of "Wellness Sharks" at the 2022 GWS in Tel Aviv, October 31 - November 3. The finalists, who were selected in a blind review of submissions from all over the world, earned the opportunity to pitch their concepts in person in front of a live audience of wellness thought leaders for a total of $10,000 in prize money.

This year's "Shark Tank of Wellness" finalists include two students from Georgia's Savannah College of Art and Design: Kay McCalla and Anvisha Vora; while the third finalist, David Austin Jones, hails from New York's Cornell University.
The 2022 "Wellness Sharks" who will grill the finalists "shark-tank style" include investors and executives from an array of wellness industries:
- Amir Alroy, Co-Founder of Welltech Ventures (Israel)
- Aldina Duarte Ramos, Global Director of Well-Being at ACCOR (France)
- Karen Campbell, business development consultant at Chiva-Som (Thailand)
- Frank Pitsikalis, Vice President, Strategy at Agilysys (US); and founder of ResortSuite (Canada)
Projects will be judged on their viability and can serve any aspect of the wellness industry, including architecture/design, beauty, education, fitness, hospitality, medicine, nutrition, real estate, spa, technology, workplace wellness and tourism.
