The Christopher Nohl Scholarship for Diverse Backgrounds: Applications Open Now And Giving Opportunities to Every Student
Milwaukee Wisconsin Entrepreneur and Business Owner Christopher Nohl Provides Scholarship Funding for Students
MILWAUKEE, Feb. 2, 2022 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- The hard reality of the world we live in is that opportunity and misfortune are not equally distributed. Certain no-fault circumstances, such as the disintegration of one's family, the loss of a home after loss of income, the death or incapacity of a family member, starvation, drug dependency, mental illness and/or incarceration of one's guardian, one's own illness, being the victim of human trafficking, intense bullying or other abuse, make it almost impossible for a young person to imagine a better life for themselves when they might not make it through the night.
Education plays a critical role in building the future of the next generation. When certain experiences and hardships restrict access to opportunity for education the entire community is harmed. Voices of those from distressed backgrounds are essential voices to a full and considered discourse. When hardship overwhelms a young person, educational aspirations often become but remote possibilities. Christopher Nohl acted upon the idea to help young people disadvantaged by circumstances and hardship to realize their educational aspirations despite the additional challenges. He created the Christopher Nohl Scholarship for Diverse Backgrounds to help level the access to the opportunity playing field for those disadvantaged by circumstances beyond their control.
Christopher Nohl is an entrepreneur, venture capitalist and fine mineral and gem expert who co-curates one of the most important private collections in the world. Christopher has spent decades financing disruptive technology startups that have the best potential for growth while also growing his own real estate, finance, SaaS, and investment companies. Christopher began attending university classes as a young child. He first attended the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee between 1983 and 1987 where he took a broad spectrum of classes including animation, computer programming, architecture, history and mathematics. In 1989 and 1990 he attended the Milwaukee Institute of Art and Design where he graduated first in his class in fine art and graphic design. Simultaneously, he attended Marquette University High School where he graduated in 1993 with a full regimen of AP classes. In 1990, he was selected to compete in an academic and athletic decathlon representing the United States in games held with Soviet students in Novosibirsk, Siberia. In 1991 Christopher completed a Fellowship at Mayo Clinic in Rochester Minnesota. In 1992, Christopher completed a Research Fellowship at the Medical College of Wisconsin. In 1997, Christopher finished his undergraduate program in Minnesota at St. Olaf College with a major in psychology (concentrated in neuropsychology and cognitive psychology and with an effective minor in molecular biology) where he was a Senator, Media Board Chairman, Editor in Chief of the Literary Arts Magazine, a calculus tutor, a statistics tutor, Director of the Cognition Laboratory, and lab-tech for organic chemistry and neuroanatomy. Between 2008 and 2017 he completed hundreds of hours of study at the Real Estate Institute. He furthered his post-graduate studies at Oxford University's Said Business School where he was able to hone his skills in distributed ledger technology. Through his experience in university, he found education to be the core foundation of a nation's future and realized that not everyone was as fortunate as he was to attend university. He seeks to remedy this problem and shed light on it through the scholarship program he just recently launched.
The Christopher Nohl Scholarship for Diverse Backgrounds is open to any student who is currently enrolled in a university or has plans to enroll in one. This scholarship places focus on students who come from a diverse background where hardship makes or is making their educational aspirations more difficult. The scholarship is to award $1,000 to a student while also aiming to shed light on the financial hurdles faced by less fortunate families just to send their children to university. He hopes that through his scholarship program that he will be able to create awareness of the issue and generate resources for other students who are in similar circumstances. The scholarship is currently accepting applications from students, and we will select a winner based on an essay contest.
