Shmoop's award-winning tool, Heartbeat, gets new features becoming the first edtech tool to help districts measure large initiatives.
LEHI, Utah, Oct. 3, 2022 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Shmoop, the award-winning digital education solutions provider, has announced the release of groundbreaking new features being added to its tool, Heartbeat.
"The addition of "Collections" in Heartbeat allows a district to better define the components of their district-wide initiatives like "Portrait of a Graduate" or "Guide-for-Life." These types of initiatives have been amazing at aligning districts to life skills they want graduates to have, but no one's ever been able to baseline or measure them until today," said Mike Soldan, Chief Operating Officer at Shmoop.
"Collections" is a new feature in Heartbeat's interface that gives a district the ability to roll up a series of Heartbeat's dimensions into a single definition that the district may be using e.g. "Growth Mindset." Growth Mindset is composed of many life skills that Heartbeat is able to identify, help students improve, and show the results to the district. For the first time, a district can both align sub-skills and measure if their work is making improvements to those goals.
"Heartbeat was already a valuable tool for Pasadena Unified students and educators. The addition of the Collections feature adds a whole new element, allowing us to understand the progress of our "Graduate Profile." We're excited to build it into our plans," said Julie Reynoso, Assistant Superintendent at Pasadena Unified School District.
Since its release in early 2021, Heartbeat by Shmoop has received the formidable Learner Variability Certification from Digital Promise, an EdTech Award from EdTech Digest in the "Cool Tool" category, and a coveted W3 Award. Shmoop was also recognized by Learnosity as a "trailblazer in the social and emotional learning (SEL) space," selected as a finalist for the ASU GSV Cup Competition, and most recently was able to share more about Heartbeat's™ creation at ASU GSV 2021.
Shmoop recently released a new blog highlighting education-focused thought leadership articles titled, "Chalk It Up." To learn more about Shmoop's perspective on education from the blog, visit: https://www.shmoop.com/resources/chalk-it-up.
