Power Home Remodeling Employees Raise Over $1.5 Million for Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation
Proceeds raised through month-long corporate giving initiative for families impacted by childhood cancer will go towards the "Power The Cure" Fund
CHESTER, Pa., Oct. 11, 2022 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Power Home Remodeling ("Power"), the nation's largest, full-service exterior home remodeler, announced today that its 3,000+ employees across the country have raised a record $1.5 million in donations for Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation (ALSF), a nonprofit dedicated to finding cures for various forms of childhood cancer. Over $1.1M was raised in the first day of the campaign alone in a record two-hour timespan, bringing Power's total contributions to ALSF over the last 11 years to more than $6 million, all entirely raised by employees of their own volition.
Since 2011, Power has designated September as "Alex's Month", creating an environment focused on education, engaging events, healthy competition, compassion, and teamwork that unifies employees around a purpose-driven initiative. In addition to payroll donations, the Power community comes together to host kickball tournaments, volunteer at hospitals, staff lemonade stands, and organize a variety of other events that generate awareness and funds for ALSF.
"It has always made sense for Power to support Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation because we've identified a charitable partner where authenticity, standards, and outlook are in lockstep with our mission to create positive change," said Adam Kaliner, co-Founder of Power Home Remodeling. "At its core, our Alex's Month initiative is our chance to bring joy to the lives of our Alex's 'Heroes' and their families, which makes our employees and our business that much better. As a Co-Founder, I've been present for some amazing milestones throughout my career, but the work we get to do with ALSF and the real impact we have on these kids has been one of the most rewarding parts of my job."
This year, Power has formally created the "Power The Cure" fund to reinforce its long-term commitment to this partnership. Donations within this fund will help support various ALSF innovative therapy grants that take a novel and promising approach to finding cures for childhood cancers. With this fund, hundreds of children – many with their last chance of survival – will be able to enroll in the most innovative and targeted treatments available.
"We have been honored partners with Power for the past 10 years and have only seen their commitment to helping children with cancer and their families grow," said Liz Scott, Co-Executive Director of Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation & Alex's Mom. "Power has made ALSF part of their company culture and identity by devoting a whole month to their fundraising efforts. They have encouraged giving at all levels and learned how to tell the story of Alex and other childhood cancer heroes in a way that truly explains the critical need and the impact of what donations can do."

About Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation
Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation (ALSF) emerged from the front yard lemonade stand of 4-year-old Alexandra "Alex" Scott, who was fighting cancer and wanted to raise money to find cures for all children with cancer. Her spirit and determination inspired others to support her cause, and when she passed away at the age of 8, she had raised $1 million. Since then, the Foundation bearing her name has evolved into a national fundraising movement. Today, ALSF is one of the leading funders of pediatric cancer research in the U.S. and Canada raising more than $250 million so far, funding over 1,000 research projects and providing programs to families affected by childhood cancer.
