Domestic violence affects millions of individuals across the US regardless of age, economic status, race, sexual orientation, gender identity, religion, ability, or education level. Financial abuse, limiting a partner's access to economic resources, affects 99 percent of domestic violence victims and 74 percent stay in abusive relationships longer because of financial concerns. One in four women will experience domestic violence in their lifetime and survivors on average leave abusive relationships with $10 in their pocket.
