“I feel that there are a few things that parties expect of a mediator,” said Levinson. “They expect to be heard and understood, that the mediator is prepared and knowledgeable about their case, not biased, and is working hard to get the case settled.”

Signature Resolution, a leader in alternative dispute resolution, announced today that Arnie R. Levinson is joining the firm. As one of the leading coverage and bad faith insurance attorneys in the country, Levinson brings nearly 40 years of experience as a lawyer with 10 years dedicated to mediation. His diligent preparation, understanding, and focus on critical issues in each case will make him a valuable member of the firm.

“I feel that there are a few things that parties expect of a mediator,” said Levinson. “They expect to be heard and understood, that the mediator is prepared and knowledgeable about their case, not biased, and is working hard to get the case settled.”

“Levinson brings a wealth of knowledge and experience in insurance law to cases involving coverage and bad faith,” said Signature Resolution Partner and CEO Dario Higuchi. “His knowledge of the law and compassion for the people involved is acutely felt and appreciated in every mediation. There aren’t many professionals like him in our industry.”
In his time as a mediator, Levinson has handled more than 1,000 cases across multiple practice areas, including business and commercial disputes, employment, ERISA, insurance coverage and bad faith, personal injury, and professional liability. Having helped parties avoid years of painful and expensive litigation, Levinson finds that listening to each party, particularly early in the mediation, is a critical component of reaching a resolution.

Levinson’s law career has been notable from the start. At his first firm, Pettit, Evers & Martin, Levinson assisted with an appeal in a bad faith defense case for Mutual of Omaha, which became formative in the practice of bad faith law. In addition, he was routinely involved in shaping insurance law legislation and has filed numerous briefs in the California and United States Supreme Courts. Levinson also established Gutierrez, Griffinger & Levinson and its successors, as well as Pillsbury & Levinson.
