SSON is proud to host Alex Rodriguez and Megan Twohey as keynotes for its flagship event—Shared Services & Outsourcing Week 2023 at Rosen Shingle Creek resort in Orlando, Florida on March 20-23, 2023.
NEW YORK, Dec. 6, 2022 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Alex Rodriguez has had one of the most impressive sports careers of all time—but his hard-earned success did not come without challenges. We are excited and honored to share that he will be joining us at SSOW 2023 in Orlando for a moderated discussion that pulls no punches. Mr. Rodriguez will take audiences through his journey—the rise, fall, and continuous path of resilience and hard work which has helped him to rebuild his role as a team leader and asset to his sport and community. Beyond his retirement from playing as a Yankee, he continues to be a crucial part of the organization as a senior adviser to Hal Steinbrenner of the New York Yankees. Mr. Rodriguez shares anecdotes about the triumphs and troubles that come with balancing sports and celebrity, and he discusses how nothing is more instrumental to success than being a true student of your craft. Join us at the Big Ideas Stage on March 23rd to hear how Alex Rodriguez has overcome multiple challenges and shares his "mindset of a champion" philosophy, and how it applies to success both on and off the field.
Megan Twohey is a Pulitzer Prize-winning investigative reporter for The New York Times and co-author of the bestselling book SHE SAID: Breaking the Sexual Harassment Story That Helped Ignite a Movement. The book takes readers behind the scenes of Twohey and Jodi Kantor's 2017 investigation of Harvey Weinstein, which helped trigger the global reckoning on sexual misconduct. The investigation shared in the 2018 Pulitzer Prize for Public Service as well as the George Polk award for national reporting and won many other prizes. Twohey has focused much of her reporting on the treatment of women and children. In 2016, she told the stories of women who accused Donald J. Trump of groping and other sexual misconduct. She uncovered an underground network where parents gave away adopted children they no longer wanted to strangers met on the Internet in a practice known as rehoming. The series, "The Child Exchange," showed how this dangerous black market took place with no government oversight and at great risk to children, and was a finalist for the 2014 Pulitzer Prize for Investigative Reporting. Twohey also was one of the first journalists to expose how police and prosecutors were shelving DNA evidence collected after sex crimes, robbing victims of the chance for justice. In response to her stories, Illinois passed the first state law mandating the testing of every rape kit.
Alex & Megan will cover topics relating back to resiliency, agility, triumph & strength. Each presentation will include real world story telling moments in digestible formats that will leave viewers with fresh prospective that can be applied back at the office.
