“We remain the same local team, committed to rapidly expanding our high-speed fiber internet network throughout Western New York to bring greater connectivity to the region. Unifying these growth initiatives under the GoNetspeed name will help accelerate us toward that goal.”

Upstate Fiber Networks (UFN) announced today that it has rebranded its name to GoNetspeed. This rebrand follows UFN’s April 2021 acquisition by Oak Hill Capital, a private equity firm with a portfolio of fiber-to-the-home companies, completing a year-long initiative to unify the five legacy companies under one brand name.

As GoNetspeed, UFN will continue its expansion throughout Western New York and the Finger Lakes, providing high-speed residential and commercial fiber Internet services throughout the region.

“Our team has a long legacy in New York. Since we first opened our doors in 1920, we have embraced the change time brings – adding locations, updating our brand, and adjusting our services to keep pace with the latest technology,” said Paul Griswold, Senior Vice President of Global Marketing and General Manager of NY Operations. “We remain the same local team, committed to rapidly expanding our high-speed fiber Internet network throughout Western New York to bring greater connectivity to the region. Unifying these growth initiatives under the GoNetspeed name will help accelerate us toward that goal.”

GoNetspeed has invested nearly $200 million to build out approximately 2,000 miles of fiber Internet to 200,000 locations across multiple states. The fiber technology is designed to provide the fastest symmetrical upload and download speeds available directly to homes and businesses.

By the end of 2022, up to 35,000 homes will be serviceable within the New York market, with plans for continued expansion.

“This is an exciting time for GoNetspeed and the family of brands that have been joining forces throughout the past year,” said Richard Clark, President and CEO of GoNetspeed. “The rebranding of UFN to GoNetspeed allows us to better align our resources and affirms our commitment to providing the best high-speed residential and commercial fiber Internet solutions to the communities we serve.”

As part of the rebrand, the Upstate Fiber Networks website is being launched as GoNetspeed at https://ny.gonetspeed.com/.

GoNetspeed is continuing a rapid network expansion throughout New York with construction plans mapped out through 2023. Community residents can check availability and sign up for priority installation by visiting https://ny.gonetspeed.com/. Even those who may not be serviceable at this time should enter their information so they can be notified of possible future expansions to their area.
