TACOMA, Wash. (PRWEB) April 08, 2022
Founded in 2015, Relief Bed International is a 501c3 non-profit charity which donates strategically built beds in support of disaster relief and humanitarian efforts globally, along with a key focus on homeless shelters in the US.
“We started Relief Bed International as there was a distinct lack of beds available that could be deployed quickly to support efforts like pop-up humanitarian shelters and emergency homeless shelters during inclement weather, stated Scott Smalling, Founder of Relief Bed International. There is a decent supply of residential beds available that can flow in after a disaster or major event happens, but these beds are not built to withstand the rigors and needs of an emergency situation,” continued Smalling.
Relief Beds are strategically made to be waterproof, cleanable and most important they ship condensed and can be repacked to store or transport easily. Relief Bed utilizes a self-inflating technology so the bed can deploy automatically. The bed is made with a durable and puncture resistant nylon cover. The 3” profile is comfortable and sufficient for its intended purpose and is filled with foam which helps to self-inflate with the help of a patented 3-way valve system.
Relief Bed has partnered with Convoy of Hope and World Vision to help make this effort possible as they have warehouses in Poland and teams on the ground to help get these beds into the right hands as efficiently as possible. “
"Convoy of Hope is incredibly grateful for our partnership with Relief Bed International. Their donation of 1,000 beds will allow refugees to get some much-needed rest during this uncertain time as they flee the violence in their homeland. These beds offer a sense of normalcy for Ukrainians when their lives are turned upside down." Ethan Forhetz, VP of Public Engagement OR National Spokesperson for Convoy of Hope.
“Children and families must be protected from conflict. World Vision is responding to this crisis and has been since the start. We are so very grateful for generous donors like Relief Bed that have come together to pledge millions to assist these efforts with World Vision and strategic partners like Convoy of Hope.” Michael Gillespie, Sr. Director, World Vision Corporate Engagement
Relief Bed International requests your help to fund this donation and future donations to support Ukraine as we plan to ship more beds if we receive appropriate funding. Relief Bed donated the first 1,000 beds proactively as they needed to act quickly to get the beds to those in need. Corporations please consider a strategic partnership or collaboration with Relief Bed. Private donations can me made via their website http://www.reliefbed.com/donate or mailed to Relief Bed International PO BOX 503 Tacoma, WA 98401.
