Oasis Marinas will host six marina cleanup events to showcase their certified Clean Marinas for this year's National Marina Day, sponsored by Snag-A-Slip.
ANNAPOLIS, Md., May 12, 2022 -- Oasis Marinas, the nation's leading marina management company, has taken National Marina Day, usually the second Saturday in June, and stretched it into a month-long eco-friendly campaign with partner, Snag-A-Slip. It's their way of celebrating the role marinas play in their local communities and celebrate them as stewards of our earth's most precious commodity, water.
Throughout the month of June, marina cleanups are planned at five of Oasis' premier, certified Clean Marinas, and one cleanup encompassing the Annapolis area, where Oasis is based. Oasis Marinas team members, partners, boaters and community members will work side by side to clean up the waters near the following properties:
June 11 Northwest Creek Marina, New Bern NC
June 18 Westshore Yacht Club, Tampa FL
June 19 Harbor East Marina, Baltimore MD
June 24 The Wharf Marina, Washington DC
June 25 Fernandina Harbor Marina, Fernandina Beach FL
These events will also incorporate member appreciation parties to recognize and celebrate the Oasis Marinas boating community.
"At Oasis, we have always communicated the importance of eco-friendly marina practices and pollution prevention internally," says Ben Burns, Oasis' Chief Marketing Officer, "but this year we are looking to expand our voice to include educating our boaters on this mission."
This sizable initiative grew out of Oasis's participation in National Marina Day last year and is anticipated to bring together groups of like-minded boaters - all doing their part to keep debris out of our waterways and marinas trash-free. Oasis is also hosting a social media photo contest to help spread awareness and show the impact these cleanups have on the overall boating environment.
