CarePenguin now available at Best Buy to help seniors age in place and passively monitor their safety
CarePenguin, a non-invasive home sensor that brings peace of mind to families with loved ones living alone is now available at BestBuy.com.
LAFAYETTE, Colo., June 4, 2022 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- The CarePenguin In-Home Activity Sensor non-invasively detects activity in a house through hot water use. CarePenguin tracks the water usage in a home using a sensor that attaches to the main hot water source of the home and takes temperature readings every 15 seconds. That activity is shown on the CarePenguin app where family members can see it and receive alerts if there's a lack of activity, encouraging them to check in with their loved one. The CarePenguin app is free, allowing users to see their loved one's activity, but customers can also choose to upgrade their subscription for a monthly fee to receive alerts about lack of activity and invite family members or other caregivers to their account.
"Water is an indicator for human behavior and typically, everyone's morning routine involves water — whether that's running the faucet, taking a shower or refilling the dog's water bowl," said Marlo Vernon, CEO and Co-Founder of CarePenguin. "We couldn't imagine a better partnership," said Vernon, "We share Best Buy's mission to help older adults and disabled loved ones to feel safe and comfortable in their home while also providing peace of mind to their family. We're honored to have CarePenguin sold alongside other home health care products at Best Buy."
By partnering with CarePenguin, Best Buy is supporting a small and woman-owned business.
