Organization Proud to Support Refugee Small Business Owners as They Make Deep Economic and Cultural Impact on Their Communities
OAKLAND, Calif., July 7, 2022 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- SkysTheLimit.org ("Sky's the Limit"), the digital community transforming the playing field for entrepreneurial success, was pleased to support refugee business owners by serving as a sponsor on June 25th in Washington, D.C.
Founded by Vanda Berninger and Wendy Chan, both of whom immigrated to the United States when their families were forced to flee their respective home countries due to war and civil unrest, One Journey is an alliance that has amassed a diverse coalition of allies. The organization was formed in September of 2017 in order to raise awareness of the global refugee crisis, and help the public see the contributions and talents of refugees and displaced people. These efforts aim to celebrate diversity and combat the growing nativism and apathy towards a humanitarian crisis of historic scale.
Sky's the Limit helped sponsor the organization's signature event, the annual One Journey Festival, a full day of music, dance, art, storytelling, food and technology on the grounds of the National Mall in Washington, DC. Sky's the Limit also shared useful business advice through its lively Entrepreneurs & Livelihood Panel Discussion with Abraham MWinda & Noobtsaa Philip Vang, facilitated by Sky's the Limit COO, Laura Plato. Mwinda and Vang are making waves as creative entrepreneurs in music and food delivery service respectively, poised to rise to the top of their markets. Sky's the Limit volunteers were also on hand in the "Take Action" tent, sharing information about Sky's the Limit's recently launched programs and services dedicated to refugee entrepreneurs.
