AGB Board of Directors Elects New Officers to Lead Association

Four new board officers serve both at AGB and at higher education institutions

WASHINGTON, July 28, 2022 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- The Association of Governing Boards of Universities and Colleges (AGB), the premier organization advocating strategic board governance in higher education, announced today that its Board of Directors has elected four new officers. Beverly Seay, Eleanor Horne, Ross Mugler, and Shauna Ryder Diggs began their new roles on July 1, 2022.

• Beverly Seay, AGB board chair, has served on the AGB board since 2015. She is the immediate past board chair and member of the University of Central Florida Board of Trustees and the southeast regional director of the National Security Innovation Network. Seay also serves as past chair and member of the University of Central Florida's College of Engineering and Computer Science Dean's Advisory Board, the Georgia Tech College of Computing Advisory Board, and the Georgia Tech Ivan Allen College Advisory Board.
• Eleanor Horne, AGB board vice chair, has served on the AGB board since 2017. She is a member of the Board of Trustees of The College of New Jersey and the former vice president of the Educational Test Services' Social Investment Fund and has leveraged her expertise and passion for her community in her philanthropy, fundraising, and grant writing. She is a trustee of the Geraldine R. Dodge Foundation and has chaired The College of New Jersey Board of Trustees and the Wells Fargo Regional Foundation Board of Trustees. She is trustee emeritus of the Princeton Area Community Foundation, and more.
• Ross Mugler, AGB board vice chair, has served on the AGB board since 2018. He is a board member at Old Dominion University and the commissioner of the revenue for the City of Hampton, Virginia. Additionally, he serves on the Board of Directors for the Virginia Peninsula Community College Education Foundation, the Hampton City Schools Education Foundation, the Virginia Air and Space Museum, and the Virginia Living Museum. He is also on U.S. Senator Mark Warner's Board of Advisors.
• Shauna Ryder Diggs, MD, AGB board secretary, has served on the AGB board since 2016. She is the immediate past board chair of AGB and regent emerita of the University of Michigan. An established physician and board-certified dermatologist, she is a fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology and the American Society of Dermatologic Surgeons. Diggs is the board chair of the Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan Foundation, serves on the boards of Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan and Detroit Opera, and was a past board member of Blue Care Network, the Detroit Institute of Arts, the Detroit Zoological Society, and Forgotten Harvest—a nonprofit member of the Feeding American Network.
