CARMEL, Calif., Sept. 28, 2022 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- RANA, the largest supplier of western native and water-efficient plants for sustainable landscapes, green roofs, wetlands and ecological restoration, was selected to design and install the plants for Eataly Silicon Valley, located in Santa Clara, California. Eataly's first northern California location, which opened in June 2022, is a three-storey 45,000 square foot world-renowned Italian marketplace in which guests can eat, shop and learn about artisanal Italian food.
The new Eataly location's three levels house two restaurants; takeaway counters for coffee, pasta, pizza, pastries and gelato; and a mercato where guests can purchase the ingredients to make their favorite dishes at home.
RANA, which is also an award-winning ecological landscape architecture firm, designed all the plantscapes, and installed more than twenty varieties of native indoor and outdoor plants throughout in bespoke planters hand selected to fill floor areas and overflow from hanging baskets floating from the ceiling. The plants were designed to create a calming atmosphere that represents the company's ethos of fresh, modern and sustainable living.
"It was a pleasure to fill the space with a range of local native plants that will enhance the dining and shopping experience for Eataly customers," said Paul Kephart, founder of RANA. "Plants are scientifically proven to improve mood, atmosphere and air quality, and we were thrilled to have been selected to work on Eataly's first Northern California location to serve the whole Bay Area."
"We selected RANA as the region's experts in local plant life as we wanted the space to be an oasis for our guests," said Filippo Faggiani, Store Director of Eataly Silicon Valley. "The installations have added a tremendous atmosphere to the design and feel of the space."
Silicon Valley is the ninth North American location and the 41st globally for Eataly which was founded in Turin, Italy, in 2007.
