Center will be a hub for EV charging innovation and training; company invests $1.5 million
ATLANTA, Sept. 13, 2022 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Heliox, a market leader in high-power electric vehicle (EV) charging systems, today announces the opening of its new U.S. Technology Center in Atlanta. The facility will staff 35-50 people with the investment of $1.5 million.
"Heliox has become a leader in the electrification of public transportation and is being entrusted by cities and businesses across the U.S. to build their EV charging infrastructure," said David Aspinwall, President, Heliox North America. "We are constantly innovating to meet the needs of today and tomorrow and are committed to developing this technology here in Atlanta."
The Heliox Technology Center serves three functions focused on the user experience: product testing for interoperability for seamless operations in the field; rapid new product development, such as next generation ideation and prototyping; and workforce enablement, including hands-on installation and maintenance training for field technicians both in- and outside the organization.
"To power the rapidly growing number of heavy-duty electric vehicles, it's important to recognize that it's not just about engineering and manufacturing the chargers, but also about having a skilled workforce to build and maintain the infrastructure," added Aspinwall. "Thus, our new technology center will not only be a focal point for our innovation but will also be committed to training the future EV workforce on Heliox's charging technology."
Heliox EV chargers have been deployed in more than 125 cities across Europe and the United States. Every day, 25,000 e-buses and e-trucks use Heliox chargers, with an estimated 3,000 tons of CO2 saved per day.
