Josh Hayes Looks to Snap the All-Time Wins Record Tie With the Squid Hunter R6 at Barber Motorsports Park, MotoAmerica Round
Hayes tied the all-time wins record at MotoAmerica Races in New Jersey Sept. 9-11, riding the Squid Hunter Yamaha R6.
ORLANDO, Fla., Sept. 21, 2022 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- After an electrifying weekend at New Jersey Motorsports Park, four-time AMA Superbike Champion Josh Hayes and Squid Hunter Racing are laser-focused on Barber Motorsports Park in Alabama September 23-25, 2022.
In the MotoAmerica Races over the weekend of Sept. 9-11, Squid Hunter and Josh Hayes accomplished an incredible feat. In Supersport Race 1 Josh Hayes climbed from a fourth slot starting position to finish first. He did it convincingly–more than 4 seconds ahead of 2022 Supersport Champion Josh Herrin. Then, in Race 2, Hayes and the Squid Hunter team dominated, winning by over 10 seconds.
With that unbelievable second win, Josh Hayes tied Miguel Duhamel's all-time record of 86 victories.
Now, Hayes and Squid Hunter are gearing up for the last event of the season and a chance to beat the all-time wins record.

Hayes has had quite a season, having won a Supersport race with Squid Hunter at VIRginia International Raceway in May 2022. He's been the rider of choice for Squid Hunter in every event the team has participated in this year, including the Daytona 200 in March.
When being interviewed by Hannah Lopa regarding his 86 wins, Hayes talked about this year's races with Squid Hunter. "These three races this year have been so special working with these guys. We should have won Daytona, and I think we are going to try and give it a shot again."
