International Forum on Peace, Security and Prosperity Announces Workshop at Rosemount High School
Workshop to combat disinformation and racism on the occasion of United Nations International Day of Peace
MONTREAL, Sept. 19, 2022 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- The International Forum on Peace, Security and Prosperity (IFPSP), a not-for-profit corporation with the mission of educating future generations by promoting world peace, today announced a workshop to be held at the English Montreal School Board's (EMSB) Rosemount High School on Wednesday, September 21 – the United Nations (UN) International Day of Peace.
Entitled "End Racism. Build Peace." the workshop aims to increase awareness of UN Peace initiatives, explore misinformation and the promotion of racism, and advance resilience among students. Structured as two 60-minute sessions, the workshop will present models for critical thinking and consensus-building, include discussion and conclude with an action plan. The workshop will be facilitated by Ryan McHugh, a 28-year-old volunteer who has worked with the IFPSP since its foundation.
"Annually, students at Rosemount High School recognize the International Day of Peace and this workshop will allow our students to further engage with the meaning of the day," says Lino Buttino, Principal, Rosemount High School. "We hope that this workshop will lead to enhanced awareness about global issues and initiate change among our students – the leaders of tomorrow."

The next IFPSP will be held in March 2023, hosted virtually and in-person in Sicily, Italy. Earlier this year, the Forum attracted more than 2,500 participants from 35 countries. In 2023, we expect to see that number grow to more than 3,000 participants."
