SiFotonics Announced A Portfolio of Silicon Photonics Product Solutions

SiFotonics announced a portfolio of silicon photonics product solutions for telecom and data center applications. The product solutions include 100G-ER1, 400G-ER4, 400G-DR4/800G-DR8 transceiver modules, 100G-400G coherent optical subassembly (COSA) modules.

BASEL, Switzerland, Sept. 19, 2022 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- SiFotonics, a pioneer of silicon photonics solutions, today announced a portfolio of silicon photonics product solutions for telecom and data center applications. The product solutions include 100G-ER1, 400G-ER4, 400G-DR4/800G-DR8 transceiver modules, 100G-400G coherent optical subassembly (COSA) modules.

100G-ER1 family of products extended 100G-PAM4 technology to cover over 40km transmission distance, and supports both QSFP28 and SFP56-DD form factors, industry temperature range from -40 to 85C. The product family also supports up to 8 wavelength channels so up to 8x100G can be transmitted over single pair of fiber, or 4x100G can be transmitted bi-directionally over a single fiber. A companion passive O-band WDM filters are also provided as part of a complete solution set. 100G-ER1 family of products effectively leverage on SiFotonics Ge/Si APD receiver technology and increased link loss budget needed for up to 40km transmission. This "feature rich" family of transceiver module solutions enabled a wide range of optical networking applications, such as 5G front haul, middle haul and back haul, data center interconnections, enterprise networking, etc.

400G-ER4 is an extension of 100G-ER1, with integration of 4 times of 100G capabilities in one compact QSFP-DD form factor. This product solution enables 400Gbps transmission over 30km and is an economical solution for high bandwidth access aggregation, backhaul, and data center interconnect.

400G-DR4/800G-DR8 family of products are based on highly integrated silicon photonics integrated circuits chipsets which included Mach-Zander modulator array, Ge/Si PD array, and analog driver and trans impedance amplifier ICs. The industry leading silicon photonics integrated circuits provides high performance with reduced number of laser chips and can support 400G and 800G over 500meter and 2km reach for hyper data center interconnect applications. The product family also supports both QSFP-DD and OSFP form factors.

100G-400G COSA product family include 32GBaud COSA for 100G-QPSK and 200G-16QAM, and 64GBaud COSA for 400G-16QAM coherent transmission applications. This family of products are based on silicon photonics integrated circuits with complete transmit and receive functions in one chip. The COSA modules also integrated with necessary modulator driver and trans impedance amplifier ICs. Combined with laser source and DSP, these COSA is the core building block for 100G to 400G coherent transceiver modules.

Over the last decade, SiFotonics team has developed silicon photonics platform included industry leading Ge/Si PD and APD receiver, coherent integrated circuits, and multi-channel PAM4 modulators.
