Proteus Protective Services announced today it has implemented a 'Motel Security Task Force,' to focus on drugs and violent crime that is occurring at motels, hotels and other lodging establishments across Clay, Duval and St Johns counties in Northeast Florida.
JACKSONVILLE, Fla., Jan. 11, 2023 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Proteus Protective Services, a licensed (FL B-3200553) armed and unarmed security patrol firm, announced today it has implemented a 'Motel Security Task Force,' to focus on drugs and violent crime that is occurring at motels, hotels and other lodging establishments across Clay, Duval and St Johns counties.
Proteus will work closely with pro-active management and law enforcement in a unified effort to reduce crime and provide guests and local area residents with a reduction in crime and a better quality of life. Proteus Protective Services is focusing on security measures designed to assist motel owners and operators in managing threats and vulnerabilities at their facilities. They are doing this by employing guidance for their Motel Security Task Force from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security's Protective Measures Guide for the U.S. Lodging Industry, a security manual developed in partnership with the American Hotel & Lodging Association.
"Violent acts being committed at local motels have been in the news weekly. It's well-established such crime has proved to be an ongoing drain on law enforcement resources and a source of chronic problems in many communities," said Sean Saunders, Deputy Chief of Proteus.
The Motel Security Task Force members—highly qualified professional security officers, were hand-selected for their background in law enforcement and the military, and will have a solid understanding and familiarity with Chapter 509 of the Florida Statues which deals with lodging in hotels, motels, and inns—this includes both Transient and Non-Transient public lodging establishments.
Annually, security firms such as Proteus respond to tens of thousands of calls from clients that involve responding to everything from noise complaints to intoxicated individuals, to trespassers, shoplifters, burglaries, fights, domestic situations and other violent crimes. Professional licensed and insured private security agencies are both a direct and indirect force multiplier to local communities; Proteus' proactive security service addresses their client's needs by addressing problems head-on and utilizes every means provided under the law to keep the client's property and assets, safe and secure.
Proteus Protective Services is currently welcoming lodging clients from Clay, Duval and St Johns counties. Lodging and residential management companies who may need protective services, including vehicle patrol / response, should contact Proteus at 844.688.1199 or at [email protected].
