ROSEMEAD, Calif. (PRWEB) March 16, 2023
Maryvale, Los Angeles County’s longest-operating children’s charity, announced today that it has received generous donations from The Rose Hills Foundation, the Carrie Estelle Doheny Foundation, and the Los Angeles Maryvale Guild for its Seton House program, a community-based initiative aimed at providing safe, temporary housing for homeless single mothers and their young children.
Seton House, which offers up to six months of support services, including therapy sessions, case management, and assistance with developing necessary life skills to achieve long-term employment and permanent housing, provides a lifeline for struggling families. The program's unique approach focuses on empowering women and breaking the cycle of homelessness and has already helped young mothers and children get back on their feet.
The donations, which were given during the second half of 2022, will be used to support Seton House and its ongoing efforts to provide a safe haven for single mothers and their children. The Rose Hills Foundation donated $100,000, the Doheny Foundation donated $30,000, and the Los Angeles Maryvale Guild donated $100,500.“The Los Angeles Maryvale Guild’s support for Seton House is critical to the programs it offers to young women and their children,” said Jackie Brooks and Maureen Schultz, Co-Presidents of the Los Angeles Maryvale Guild. “Our goal in supporting Seton House is to help change as many of these lives as we can."
The Carrie Estelle Doheny Foundation has a long history of supporting Maryvale's mission to serve orphaned children and their families. “Today, the campus continues to serve children and families in need, and we are so proud to be part of Maryvale’s long history of service,” said Nina Shepherd, Executive Director of the Carrie Estelle Doheny Foundation.
“We are grateful for the continued support of The Rose Hills Foundation, the Carrie Estelle Doheny Foundation, and the Los Angeles Maryvale Guild,” stated Steve Gunther, MSW, President & Chief Executive Officer of Maryvale. “Their consistent and generous support over the years has been instrumental in our ability to provide vital services to those who need it most.”
