GetDismissed Shares Tips to Reduce Distracted Driving and Avoid Costly Tickets During April's Awareness Month
LOS ANGELES, March 21, 2023 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- As April marks Distracted Driving Awareness Month, GetDismissed, a California traffic ticket dismissal company, is providing tips to help drivers avoid distractions, improve road safety, and steer clear of traffic tickets.
"Distracted driving is a serious problem that can result in accidents, injuries, and even fatalities," said Steve Miller, CEO of GetDismissed. "By taking simple steps to eliminate distractions, we can all contribute to making our roads safer for everyone."
According to the National Safety Council, distracted driving is any activity that diverts a person's attention away from driving, including texting, using a cell phone, eating, grooming, and adjusting the radio or GPS. There are more than 2,750 traffic fatalities every year in California. 18% of these fatal accidents are caused by driver distractions.
April is also a time when police departments and the California Highway Patrol (CHP) increase their focus on distracted driving. In particular, they often pay closer attention to cell phone use and other distractions. This can lead to an increase in the number of distracted driving tickets given out during the month of April.
To help drivers stay focused on the road, GetDismissed recommends the following tips:- Put your phone away: Keep your phone out of reach or turn it off before driving to avoid the temptation to use it while on the road.
- Avoid eating and drinking: Eating and drinking while driving can cause distractions and impair your ability to react quickly.
- Set your GPS before driving: Program your GPS before you start driving, and if you need to make changes, pull over to a safe location first.
- Don't groom while driving: Avoid grooming activities such as putting on makeup, shaving, or fixing your hair while driving.
- Focus on driving: Stay focused on the road and avoid any activities that take your attention away from driving, such as daydreaming or talking to passengers.
"By following these tips and making a conscious effort to eliminate distractions, we can all do our part to help reduce the number of accidents caused by distracted driving," added Mr. Miller.About GetDismissed:GetDismissed is the leading and respected California traffic ticket dismissal company since 2004, that provides drivers with an affordable and easy-to-use online platform to fight their traffic tickets.
