The San Fernando Valley Symphony Orchestra invites You to An Evening of Great Music Close To Home Concert on Saturday April 1, 2023 @ 8:00 pm
This is the third in a series of concerts as the San Fernando Valley Symphony Orchestra continues its mission to bring "Great Music Close to Home."
LOS ANGELES, March 28, 2023 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- For Over 40 years, the San Fernando Valley Symphony Orchestra has been bringing "Great Music Close to Home." Under the direction of founding musical director and conductor James Domine, the orchestra has presented the finest performances of symphonic music to communities in the San Fernando Valley. Led by Maestro Domine, it has become a showcase for some of the finest musicians and composers in Southern California. The orchestra opened its 2022-2023 season last November in its new home, the El Portal Theatre in North Hollywood.
On Saturday evening, April 1, 2023, the San Fernando Valley Symphony Orchestra returns to the historic El Portal where everyone can once again experience the joy of live music. The concert will feature "Egmont Overture" by Beethoven, "Symphony #4 in D Minor" by Schumann, and violinist Wenlan Jackson performing Tchaikovsky's "Violin Concerto in D major." In addition, the Maestro is proud to present the inaugural performance of his original composition, "On the Walls of the Wonderful White Waltz.'" According to Maestro Domine, it is "Southern California's answer to Johann Strauss Jr's 'On the Banks of the Beautiful Blue Danube,'" which he dedicates to "El Rio de Nuestra Señora La Reina de Los Ángeles de Porciúncula."
