Hotel Commonwealth Teams Up With Boston's Community Rowing
BOSTON (PRWEB) April 05, 2023 -- Just in time for the return of sun-drenched days on the water, Hotel Commonwealth today announced a collaboration with Community Rowing Inc. (CRI) to offer guests an opportunity to enjoy iconic rowing experiences on Boston’s Charles River. Community Rowing, Inc. is a nonprofit organization with a mission to invite individuals of all backgrounds, abilities, and experience to grow through rowing. Home of the largest rowing regatta in the world, the Head Of The Charles, Boston is a premier rowing and training destination for collegiate and national champions alike, and now guests of Hotel Commonwealth will have the chance to be one with the water and enjoy this unique Boston experience.
Through the rowing season of April to November, guests of Hotel Commonwealth, including couples, families, or small groups, can get a taste of the sport through private indoor instruction, followed by an on-water experience with one of Community Rowing’s certified coaches. Also, groups of up to 48 people can row together on 12-person barges for a 2-hour session, making for the perfect team-building activity.
“Rowing on the Charles is an extraordinary experience and a truly iconic Boston moment,” said Adam Sperling, General Manager, Hotel Commonwealth. “We are delighted to partner with Community Rowing as we always strive to provide an elevated and authentic Boston experience for our guests. For any Boston native or visitor, rowing on the Charles River and exploring the city by way of the water promises a one-of-a-kind, unforgettable experience.”
Hotel Commonwealth makes it easy for guests to book a rowing experience for upcoming stays and can assist with transportation to and from the Boathouse. The hotel can also arrange group rowing experiences for families or parties of up to 48 guests.
“People travel from all over the world for the chance to row on the Charles River,” said Ted Benford, CRI Executive Director. “We are committed to breaking down barriers to that experience. Our programs offer support in the form of financial aid, transportation, customized world-class equipment, certified coaching, and more. We were founded on the belief that ‘anyone can row,’ and that’s never been more true than at Community Rowing.”
By participating in an on-water excursion at CRI, individuals support its para/adaptive, military, and Let’s Row Middle School, and scholastic Row Boston programs. Headquartered at the award-winning Harry Parker Boathouse, CRI is the largest public-access rowing organization in North America and serves as a national model for its programs and coaching education. It partners with Veteran Affairs, Boston Public Schools, and other community-based organizations to open doors to the sport of rowing.
