Ocean Rowing Team Announces Partnership with Laureus USA
New Orleans, Louisiana (PRWEB) April 19, 2023 -- Horizon Racing USA, a team of elite rowers, has announced plans to row across the Pacific Ocean in the summer of 2024 as a part of the World's Toughest Row. The four-person team will row over 2,800 miles from Monterey, California, to Kauai, Hawaii, to raise funds and awareness for Laureus Sport for Good USA, the team's official charity partner.
Horizon Racing USA is attempting to break the world record for the fastest row across the Pacific by a co-ed team. The record currently stands at 57 days and was set by the team “Pacific Warriors'' in 2014. Horizon Racing USA is also positioned to be the first All-American co-ed team to row across the Pacific Ocean. While at sea, the team will row continuously for 24 hours a day, in two-hour shifts, battling extreme weather conditions, waves up to 40ft, sleep deprivation, sea-sickness, and marine life. By overcoming these challenges, Horizon Racing USA hopes to inspire young people to pursue their dreams, overcome obstacles, and make a positive impact in the world.
