GrantWorks names Mataro senior vice president of community relations
AUSTIN, Texas (PRWEB) April 20, 2023 -- GrantWorks, Inc., a recognized leader of state and federal grant administration and consulting services, recently announced the appointment of Steve Mataro as its senior vice president of community relations. In this role, Mataro will develop relationships with local governments and their constituents, offering the firm’s encompassing services to foster resilient communities.
Mataro’s extensive experience with federally funded grant programs extends over 45 different projects with the Federal Emergency Management Agency and Community Development Block Grants-Disaster Recovery programs. His work has spanned Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Louisiana, New Jersey, New York, North and South Carolina, North Dakota, Puerto Rico, Texas, and three U.S. Virgin Island disaster recovery programs.

Originally from New Jersey, Mataro relocated to Georgia in the ‘80s and started his own company, Americas Siding, with the addition of its supply arm, America’s Supply Company, Inc. in 2004. In 2009, Mataro became a partner and owner of DSW Homes, a Texas-based company focused on disaster recovery. Under his leadership, DSW completed over 13,000 residential renovations, elevations, emergency repairs, and new construction projects totaling nearly $1 billion.

Having dedicated himself to volunteer work, Mataro has earned a variety of honors, including the 2016 Galveston County Daily News Citizen of the Year award, the 2013 Galveston County Daily News Community Champion award, and the 2012 Galveston Regional Chamber of Commerce Volunteer of the Year award, to name a few. Mataro previously served as the president of Texas’ SMART Family Literacy program and still serves as a board member. He also serves as a board member for the Gulf Coast Big Brothers Big Sisters program and is a 35-year Rotarian.
