Aero Turbine, Inc., a leader in maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) services, has been awarded a [sole-source] prime contract to perform component overhaul services for the United States Air Force (USAF) under the Management of Items Subject to Repair (MISTR) program.
STOCKTON, Calif., May 4, 2023 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Aero Turbine, Inc. (ATI), a leader in maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) services, announced today that it was awarded a [sole-source] prime contract to perform component overhaul services for the United States Air Force (USAF) under the Management of Items Subject to Repair (MISTR) program. The total estimated value, for the first two years of this ten-year, indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity (ID/IQ) contract is $84 million.
Under this contract, Aero Turbine will continue to provide depot-level repair for all internal components of the J85 engine to extend aircraft service life expectancy and ensure the safe and reliable operation of T-38 training aircraft. All work will be performed at Aero Turbine's facilities in Stockton, California. This contract follows a previous program awarded to Aero Turbine in 2000, first as a subcontractor to Magellan Aerospace, and then as the prime contractor beginning in 2011.

Aero Turbine was named the Prime Contractor of the Year for Region IX by the Small Business Administration in 2013 for its performance on the J85 MISTR program. This latest contract award represents the third time that Aero Turbine has won the J85 MISTR Program as the prime.
