Esports Mogul Bernard Chong Turns Focus Toward New Ventures After Dismissal of Drug Smuggling Charges by Philippines Court of Appeals
Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) June 13, 2023 -- Championship-winning Bren Esports CEO, Angel Investor, and multi-millionaire Bernard Chong officially announced he has been cleared of all criminal charges by The Special 17th Division of the Court of Appeals in Manilla, Philippines. Chong made national headlines when egregious allegations were made implicating him in a $33M drug smuggling attempt by Fortune Yield shipping company that proved unsuccessful upon seizure by authorities at the Manila International Container Port. The appellate court overturned the hasty decision of the Manila City Regional Trial Court (RTC) following Chong's filing of a Petition for Certiorari, which argued that the Manila court had either acted with grave abuse of discretion or lacked jurisdiction in its refusal to reverse the warrant and dismiss the criminal charges against him.
Chong presented irrefutable notarized evidence to the court detailing the dissolution of any affiliation with the accused company years before the incident. He achieved complete dismissal by demonstrating that he had long since transferred his shares of stocks to Jaymark De Vicente, the president of Fortune Yield. Following the quashing of all charges and warrants against him, Chong vehemently turns his attention toward his many business, mentorship, and philanthropic initiatives.
"I was confident that justice would prevail from the beginning, but I'm ready to put this challenging chapter behind me,” stated Chong. “My heart is full from the kindness of all who extended their good faith, understanding, and support during this difficult time. I am determined to use my experience as fuel to continue creating opportunities for others to achieve victory and receive fair treatment as they pursue their dreams." Chong is anticipated to formally announce new groundbreaking developments this summer in the real estate and food and beverage industries, as well as educational and charitable endeavors supporting start-up entrepreneurs, technological innovation, fair housing, and criminal justice.
As an investor in many start-ups around the globe, Chong is world-renowned for founding the Bren Esports organization in 2017. Bren's Mobile Legends: Bang Bang achieved a historic win as the first Philippine team to win the M-series World Championship title. In May, the Philippines' SIBOL team triumphantly won a Gold medal in the 32nd Southeast Asia Games (SEA) Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) men's tournament. The team of top Bren Esports players secured a trending resurgence during the MPL PH Season 11 and now boasts a three-peat victory against competitor Malaysia. In addition to MLBB, Bren Esports also has top-ranking teams in CS: GO, PUBG, League of Legends, Overwatch, Valorant, Hearthstone, Clash Royale, Arena of Valor, Rules of Survival, and Tekken 7. Chong's diversified portfolio has stakes in several industries such as animation (ASI Studios), communications (Energy FM), food and beverage (Tim Hortons/Kko Kko), entertainment (RKB Productions), and information technology (Thirty-One Digital/Beepbeep.ph). His newest ventures include BrenPro Inc., Mineski Events Team, and a U.S.-based capital fund.
