FloWater Teams Up with Green Sports Alliance and One Tree Planted to Support Coastal Ecosystems
DENVER (PRWEB) July 26, 2023 -- With a shared mission of protecting our planet, today FloWater announced they are joining the Green Sports Alliance and One Tree Planted in planting 11,500 trees to support the Orca Project, a multi-year project by One Tree Planted that supports coastal ecosystems and wetland restoration. Aligned with protecting oceans and wildlife, FloWater is donating 5,000 trees in addition to the initial 6,500 trees planted for attendees of the 2023 Green Sports Alliance Summit hosted at Seattle’s Climate Pledge Arena in June.
A multi-year project by One Tree Planted, 300,000 trees are scheduled for planting during the first year of the project in 50+ Watersheds throughout California, Oregon, Washington, and British Columbia. The trees will be planted along the banks of rivers, where they help filter out toxins as water passes through the soil and into vital salmon habitat and spawning grounds. This not only improves salmon survivability, but also improves the quality and quantity of food available to the orca during their migrations.
Denver-based FloWater, now a part of Bluewater, the Swedish global hydration solutions, and beverage brand, has prevented nearly 500 million single-use plastic water bottles from entering oceans, rivers, and landfills with its new-tech water Refill Stations in place at hotels, offices, gyms and thousands of schools across the country. CEO and Co-Founder Rich Razgaitis noted, “This partnership is a great example of how the world of sports and the business of clean water technology can join forces to protect our oceans.”
