Fan favorite event returns to Phoenix in after two-year pause

“As a long time enthusiast of wing shooting, this event is an awesome opportunity to showcase my love for competition, comradery and philanthropy,” said Mark Bramlett, a Copperstate Double Gun participant.

Enrollment is now open for the highly anticipated 14th annual Copperstate Double Gun, a one-of-a-kind sporting clay shooting event supporting the Phoenix Art Museum. The event, organized by Men’s Arts Council, includes a full day of challenging stations, live entertainment, and the camaraderie of fellow double-gun enthusiasts.

“The last time we hosted this event was in 2020, just before the pandemic,” said Joel Coen, President of the Men’s Arts Council. "Now that it's much easier to be back out in the world and enjoy group activities, we're thrilled to bring it back in 2023. The Copperstate Double Gun is a fan favorite, and we are excited to welcome both familiar and new faces into the crowd.”

Even the most skilled shooter will be challenged by this competition. The Copperstate Double Gun collection includes double barrel, break action shotguns with or without hammers that can be configured over/under or side-by-side. Trophies will be awarded for the large (12 and 16 gauge) and small (20 gauge and under, including 410 bore) shotgun divisions in the over/under and side-by-side configuration categories.

“As a long time enthusiast of wing shooting, this event is an awesome opportunity to showcase my love for competition, comradery, and philanthropy,” said Mark Bramlett, a Copperstate Double Gun participant. “This event is so well run and detailed in participant enjoyment, it’s a can’t miss event every year. From the great prizes for the Top-Shots to the huge selection of raffle items, everyone comes home a winner!”

The event also includes a specialty station in addition to the competition track, where shooters can purchase chances to compete against the ladies of the Xavier Hot Shots. The winning shooter and the Hot Shots split the net winnings.

Copperstate Double Gun will be held on Saturday, February 4th, 2023, at The Ben Avery Clay Target Center, 5060 W. Skeet Street, Phoenix, Arizona 85086. Participants are invited to register to shoot at CopperstateDoubleGun.com from now until February 1, with a limit of 160 shooters. All participants receive one competitive round with 75 targets, as well as breakfast, lunch, a happy hour with a no-host bar, and a shooter swag bag.

The Copperstate Double Gun offers a variety of sponsorship opportunities, including presenting sponsor, breakfast or afternoon bar sponsor, shooting station sponsor, booth sponsor, and more.
