Strategic advice and global connectivity to drive commercial launch and adoption of Balboa Geo’s POINTER geolocation technology developed at Caltech / NASA’s Jet Propulsion Lab for GPS-denied and degraded environments

"We recognize the dependencies created by the existing legacy overhead architecture and have an acute need to develop alternative and redundant techniques for geolocation. POINTER plays an important role in filling that largely unmet need for position, navigation and timing benefiting many sectors”

Balboa Geolocation, Inc. (“Balboa Geo”) is pleased to announce the formation of its Strategic Advisory Council (“SAC”) to provide high level advice and guidance for the commercial launch of its first-in-class geolocation technology, known as POINTER.

The SAC is composed of senior leadership from the defense and private sectors. ABOUT Balboa Geolocation

Balboa Geolocation (“Balboa Geo”) is an industrial technology company focused on solutions for the global geolocation market in GPS-denied or degraded environments. POINTER consists of easily deployed hardware (including, Transmitter, Receiver, and Base Station - laptop or tablet) and software-as-a-service (SaaS) serving Public Safety, Defense, Industrial and Commercial sectors. POINTER can be deployed on a fixed or mobile basis. POINTER is not dependent on fixed infrastructure, such as satellites and cell towers to enable its position, navigation, timing, and orientation data. POINTER leverages patented Magneto-Electro-Quasi-Static (“M/EQS”) technology. It can provide highly accurate (within centimeters), 3-D (“xyz” axis), real-time data for indoor, underground, underwater, and metallic environments where most other position, navigation, and timing techniques fail. POINTER can be easily integrated with other geospatial technologies for comprehensive and redundant solutions in all environments. The geospatial data derived from POINTER is interoperable. The real-time data is displayed on Balboa Geo’s proprietary visualization software or may be ingested by other third-party software platforms providing a comprehensive view of the target environments. POINTER is designed to save lives, track high value assets, improve workflows and productivity, enable post-event analytics for training and education, and provide support for litigation and forensic analysis. POINTER was developed by Caltech / NASA’s Jet Propulsion Lab (JPL) and exclusively licensed by Balboa Geo for all fields of use on a global scale. POINTER is expected to be commercially available in the second half of 2023.
