WEST LAFAYETTE, Ohio (PRWEB) February 08, 2023
In 1923, Jones Metal Products was established on the site of a former metal stamping and porcelain enameling company in West Lafayette, Ohio. Throughout its 100 years, the company has a long history of excellence in metal parts forming and continues honing their expertise while adopting forward-thinking modern technologies.
"Even with an enduring track record of success, we understand that in order to compete in today's global marketplace, we must be extremely agile,” said Dan Erb, President, and CEO, Jones Metal Products. “As the company has grown, we have been at the forefront of advancing technologies while remaining true to our foundation of providing exceptional quality in the manufacturing process and working with our customers to ensure that their unique requirements are being met.”
In the beginning, up-and-coming entrepreneur, Frank E. Jones, shifted the focus to hospital sick room utensils and lighting reflectors with core strengths in stamping and enameling. Later Frank’s son-in-law, Ed Mulligan, led the company to purchase a Cincinnati Hydroform machine.
The machine was well-supported by Jones Metal’s skilled operators and tool and die technicians. Customers supplying the aerospace industry, commercial lighting customers, and a clad-metal cookware manufacturer found a capable new supplier in the company, earning the company a loyal customer base. Jones Metal’s business expanded through the years, supporting the purchase of additional hydroform machines. With the increase in business through hydroforming, the company closed its porcelain enameling operation and sold the lighting segment of the business.
Now in its 100th year, the company has developed the quality systems and in-house capabilities to deliver difficult parts complete to print. Jones Metal has complex hydroforming capabilities and can produce geometric shapes that may be challenging for other operations, even when tasked with using more resistant materials. The company exceeds customers’ expectations and makes the seemingly impossible possible.
The facility has 3- and 5-axis lasers, 3- and 5-axis machining centers, two aluminum drop bottom furnaces, and a vacuum furnace for aluminum heat treating that is accredited by the National Aerospace and Defense Contractors Accreditation Program (Nadcap). Having onsite heat-treating capabilities yields significant savings on lead times and production costs, eliminating the need to transport parts across the country for processing.
Since its inception, Jones Metal has supported the Coshocton County community by recruiting top talent and investing in employees to provide the most innovative hydroforming solutions. The company maintains certifications such as Nadcap, ITAR, ISO 9001:2015, and HUBZone as a commitment to quality and its customers in aerospace, defense, transportation, medical, power generation, and commercial industries.
