Hydrogen generation technology takes another significant step forward. The City of Columbia, South Carolina has entered into a 5-year deal with ImaGEN, a provider of hydrogen generation technology, to operate an existing hydrogen fueling station. As part of the agreement, ImaGEN will incorporate Tru-H2™ technology into the station, which will make it the first on-site, on-demand hydrogen fueling station of its kind.
COLUMBIA, S.C., March 22, 2023 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- ImaGEN™, a provider of hydrogen generation technology, recently signed an agreement with the City of Columbia, South Carolina to assume the management and operation of an existing hydrogen fueling station for five years and will integrate its innovative Tru-H2™ technology into the facility, making it the first on-site, on-demand hydrogen fueling station of its kind.
The Columbia site will initially function as a comprehensive demonstration center for ImaGEN's Tru-H2™and Tru-Fuelä low-cost, easily configurable hydrogen generation technology which will provide clean power for initial use cases like city infrastructure maintenance equipment. Once complete, the site will showcase the versatility of the technology and demonstrate how clean hydrogen can be safely generated on-site and on-demand for use in several industry applications, including data centers, telecommunication towers, material handling equipment, commercial and construction equipment, and automotive/fleet trucking refueling. Additionally, ImaGEN expects to demonstrate its ability to recycle and regenerate its fuel, which would be an industry first, further extending the renewability and reducing the levelized cost of the hydrogen it produces.

This new agreement marks an initial milestone in the adoption of clean energy and represents another step forward in the advancement of hydrogen generation technology.
