Louise Hood, Community Management Icon and Residential Realty Group's Longtime Partner, CEO and President, Retires
Louise J. Hood, the 87-year-old founding partner and former president and CEO of Residential Realty Group, has retired after more than 40 years with the company.
TOWSON, Md., March 31, 2023 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Louise J. Hood, the 87-year-old president emeritus and former CEO and partner of Residential Realty Group (RRG), has retired after more than 40 years with the company.
Her last official day was Feb. 28. She first started with RRG in 1985. "My whole life has been this company, and I am very proud of what I—and the company—have achieved in the last four decades," Hood said.
An icon in the community management field, Hood, who will turn 88 in May, started her career when she was hired as the company's first executive vice president by founder and partner Joan Magill.
Hood began her career managing apartments but quickly became skilled and adept in the condo and HOA management business. As a former president of the Community Association Institute, Hood was an integral part of getting legislation passed to benefit the industry. A lot has changed in the property management industry since the mid-1980s, but Hood said the biggest constant throughout her career was the wonderful people she worked with at RRG. "We put together one of the best teams of employees anyone could have, and so many of them worked with us for so many years," she said.
Residential Realty Group, which is celebrating 50 years in business, is a full-service community management company serving the greater Baltimore area. It provides developer-builder tools, accounting and other financial services, document assistance, HOA management support, risk mitigation, and more.
"Louise and I had a wonderful and long-standing partnership for four decades, which is rare in today's environment. We did everything we could to meet each other's needs, and we were blessed to have such a symbiotic understanding of each other," Magill said.
Hood said she is looking forward to spending time at her place on the beach and with friends. She enjoys visiting casinos and takes a few cruises each year. Soon, she plans on taking a bus trip to Niagara Falls. "I've had a lot of good health, good luck and good fortune throughout my career," Hood said. "And I still have some good years ahead of me."
