BlocPower Partners with Town of Peterborough, NH to Pilot Building Electrification Program
BlocPower, a national climate tech company focused on decarbonizing aging buildings, and the Town of Peterborough, New Hampshire announced a pilot partnership to help upgrade the town's building stock to more comfortable, energy efficient and all-electric heating and cooling systems.
PETERBOROUGH, N.H., May 9, 2023 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- BlocPower, a national climate tech company focused on decarbonizing aging buildings, and the Town of Peterborough, New Hampshire announced a pilot partnership to help upgrade the town's building stock to more comfortable, energy efficient and all-electric heating and cooling systems.
The pilot program will focus on the electrification of 10-15 buildings by June 30, 2024. BlocPower will manage and help finance the building retrofits — including weatherization, electric panel upgrades and the installation of cold climate heat pump technology. Participants will have access to local incentives via NHSaves, low-cost financing, state and federal incentive programs and expert project oversight to complete upgrades that would otherwise require significant upfront investment and contractor management.

These projects will deliver more comfortable, reliable and energy-saving heating, cooling and hot water systems to building owners and residents. At the same time, they will reduce the buildings' fossil-fuel use and greenhouse gas emissions. BlocPower will be working directly with the Peterborough Renewable Energy Planning (PREP) Team and local contractors to execute this work on behalf of the Town.
