20th Annual Bethesda Row Arts Festival Brings Exquisite Art to Outdoor Gallery in DC Metro Area October 14-15, 2017
Bethesda, Maryland (PRWEB) October 04, 2017 -- Vibrant glass weaving by an imaginative innovator in Michigan, mystical digital collages from a Nashville photographer, sculptural furniture from a Georgia native, and luminous watercolors reflecting a life in Ghana by a Southern transplant. These are just a few examples of the museum-quality art that will be displayed at the 20th Annual Bethesda Row Arts Festival this October.
Having become a showcase for exquisite arts and crafts, from intricate jewelry to landmark sculptures, it’s no wonder that the Bethesda Row Arts Festival has established itself as one of the leading fine arts and crafts festivals in the United States since its founding in 1997. Today, the Festival is ranked as one of the top elite fine art fairs in the U.S. by the Art Fair Sourcebook.
This year, the 20th Annual Festival will again bring together 190 world-class artists in an open air outdoor gallery that transforms the streets of Bethesda Row in Bethesda, Maryland. The Festival takes place, rain or shine, Saturday, October 14, from 11am to 6pm, and Sunday, October 15, from 10am to 5pm.
The event is free and open to the public. More information is available at http://www.bethesdarowarts.org or https://www.facebook.com/BethesdaArtsFestival/ or by calling 301-637-5684. A special art sale will benefit the NIH Children’s Charities, thanks to generous donations from participating artists.
Participating in this year’s Festival are artists from across the United States who have received national and international acclaim for their ability to bring new vibrancy to their chosen media. Their work represents the most unique art being created today in ceramics, digital art, drawing, fiber, glass, graphics/printmaking, jewelry, metalwork, painting, photography, printmaking, sculpture, wood, and mixed media.
All of the artists were selected by a professional jury based on the creativity, innovation, and execution of their original works. A complete list of artists, along with the event schedule, is available at http://www.bethesdarowarts.org.
According to Bethesda Row Arts Festival Director Robin Markowitz, the Festival has become known as one of the best art fairs in the country for its exceptional art, wide appeal, and its engaging artists. “We have found that the Festival attracts everyone - from the serious patron to the new collector - and we know they’ve enjoyed the experience of discovering artists who are pioneers in their fields,” she notes.
Adds Markowitz: “We look forward to bringing this premier outdoor gallery back to Bethesda Row for its milestone year.”
Bethesda Row is located on Woodmont and Bethesda Avenues, Elm Street and Bethesda Lane, east of Arlington Road, in Bethesda, Maryland 20814. It is within easy walking distance from the Bethesda Metro station. Free and paid parking garages are located around the site. With numerous restaurants and cafes, the popular destination offers more than 50 dining options during the Festival. More information is at http://www.bethesdarowarts.org.
