SAN FRANCISCO, March 8, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Sarah Christina Vineyards, a women owned wine company that gives 25% of profits to women, is pleased to announce the 2019 grant recipients.
"Everyone knows a woman in the community who is struggling and needs a helping hand. Giving back by supporting women is core to our brand and our shoppers enjoy a sense of purpose and connection," said Sarah Christina Schloemer, Founder and Owner of Sarah Christina Vineyards.
In the ocean of products on supermarket shelves, few stand out like the glorious Sarah Christina peacock feather that brings community values to the $34 billion retail wine industry. Women, who represent 60 percent of consumers and 80 percent of buyers, can now have their wine purchases support other women who need a leg-up in life.
"I am so happy to learn about Sarah Christina wines and their commitment to supporting women! I don't think I've ever seen a company offering such a generous award to help women make ends meet," Stephanie Green, Chief Strategist, Partnerships at the Women's Foundation of California.
Other organizations such as Dress for Success, Women's Empowerment, Sacramento Regional Family Justice Center and the Health Education Council support women in the community and these funds can further help the women they serve. Many organizations are therefore actively supporting the brand.
"The Child Abuse Prevention Center is thrilled to be working with Sarah Christina Vineyards to create opportunities to advance women in our communities," said Clay Merrill, Director of Advancement with The Child Abuse Prevention Center. "In our work to prevent child abuse and neglect, we find many strong women who are willing to make changes in their lives to strengthen their families. Our hope is that by partnering with organizations like Sarah Christina Vineyards, women we work with will be able to receive even more resources that will provide them a better tomorrow."
There are also industry organizations supporting women owned businesses or women in the wine industry such as Women for WineSense, or Women of the Vine who are holding the fifth anniversary Women of the Vine & Spirits Global Symposium next week in Napa.
The Sarah Christina Vineyards grant recipients are announced on International Women's Day, a global day celebrating the economic, political and social achievements of women. The 2019 International Women's Day theme is, "Better the balance, better the world," or #BalanceforBetter and Sarah Christina Vineyards is an example of a values based company doing just that.
"It makes me feel so good knowing that my purchase contributes to individuals - I know part of the profit of my money will land directly in the hands of a deserving woman who is facing hardship and setbacks. What a beautiful thing," said Rhonda M, California.
Each of the women in hardship receiving a grant shows great strength and determination to turn their lives around. The 2019 grant recipients are women that desperately need help and who are sincerely grateful that somebody cares.
