3rd Annual PenCraft Award will be filmed for a feature on the Jim King of the Road Show

HOUSTON, Jan. 16, 2020 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Jim King, Host and Producer of the Jim King of the Road Show, announced that part of a forthcoming show will be filmed at the 3rd Annual PenCraft Awards' Dinner and Ceremony, where 18 authors will be receiving accolades and some monetary awards for their excellence in literature. King, a long-time Saturday night staple of Southeast Texas, will be filming and interviewing winners from the PenCraft Awards Ceremony being held at the Golden Nugget Hotel and Casino of Lake Charles, LA at 7 pm – Monday, Jan 20th, 2020.

The PenCraft Awards' top winners were Linnea Tanner, the author of Apollo's Raven, Joe Barrett with his hilarious book Managed Care, and Marcus Nannini, the author of the biography Left for Dead at Nijmegen. Linnea Tanner's book was a riveting story about a Celtic warrior princess torn between love and her duty to her people. Managed Care was a book that addressed contemporary issues of senility, adult diapers, and suicide with Joe Barrett's bizarre, laugh-out-loud humor. Marcus Nannini's biography recounted the life of Gene Metcalfe, a 2nd World War American paratrooper wounded by the Nazis and held as a POW in Stalag XII-A until American troops freed him at the end of the war.

The subject of Marcus Nannini's book, Gene Metcalfe, will also be present at the 3rd Annual PenCraft Awards Dinner and Ceremony. Ninety-seven-year-old Gene will be accompanied by his wife Paulette, and he will speak to the audience about his experience as a POW and his views of today's world.

The PenCraft Awards Dinner and Ceremony is an annual event that celebrates the winners of a literary competition of books submitted during the prior-year. Books are judged on literary merit, how well they are selling, their uniqueness and various other criteria. This year 18 of the winning authors from across the country will converge on the Golden Nugget Hotel and Casino in Lake Charles, LA, for the awards ceremony.
