4WD a Premier Sponsor at Bantam Festival Celebrating Jeep’s 75th Birthday
Columbiana, Ohio (PRWEB) June 08, 2015 -- Prominent provider of aftermarket Jeep parts and Jeep accessories, 4WD, will be a Premier sponsor at the 2015 Bantam Jeep Heritage Festival staged in Butler, Pennsylvania June 12-14. The company will sponsor the event’s wrist bands as well as the Show’n Shine and the Ruff’n Tuff competitions and be among vendors selling Jeep products. This year, the festival is celebrating the Jeep’s 75th birthday with a full slate of historical speakers, exhibits and live demonstrations, outdoor activities for enthusiasts and an attempt to regain the Guinness World Record for the largest Jeep parade.
“We’re celebrating the Bantam Jeep's 75th birthday by attempting to set a new Guinness World Record for the largest Jeep parade and offering on-site parade registration on June 12,” says Festival Director Patti Jo Lambert. “Our parade will travel through downtown Butler, the birthplace of the Jeep, and we're also very excited that the only re-creation of the world's original Jeep in our History Exhibit.” Back in 2011, the Bantam Jeep Heritage Festival notched the Guinness Book of World Records largest Jeep parade at 1,106 vehicles, but earlier this year Jeep Beach set a new record of 1,846.
This is the fifth year the Butler County Tourism & Convention Bureau has joined forces with the Butler County Historical Society, local Butler organizations and Jeep enthusiasts to organize the festival. Events take place at Cooper’s Lake Campground near Slippery Rock, Pennsylvania and in downtown Butler to commemorate the storied Jeep that helped the Allies win World War II.
“4Wheel Drive Hardware is once again proud to be a Premier sponsor of this year's Bantam Jeep festival in Butler, birthplace of the original Bantam Jeep,” says Sean Campbell, 4WD General Manager. “This year's event is not only a 75th birthday celebration of ‘The vehicle that won a War,’ but it's an opportunity to be a part of a world record for the largest Jeep parade in history... and 4WD wouldn't miss it for the world!”
The festival traditionally has an impressive lineup of speakers and this year is no exception. Paul Bruno, author of Project Management in History: The First Jeep plans to focus on the research he did for his book. “Festivalgoers will be treated to a variety of historic photos including the historic first drawing of a Jeep type vehicle completed on June 19, 1940 at the American Bantam factory in Butler and the iconic photograph taken of the first Jeep ten minutes after its assembly on September 21, 1940,” he says.
“We'll shed some light on the interdependent contributions of several members of the Bantam team, especially Harry Payne, Karl Probst, Frank Fenn, Harold Crist, Ralph Turner and others whose names have been forgotten in history's tendency to attribute a great design to a single designer,” says David Kanally, festival speaker and President of the Bantam Reconnaissance Car 75th Anniversary Celebration Group.
