6th Annual Chisholm Trail Ram Prairie Circuit Finals Rodeo Scheduled This Weekend in Duncan, the Heart of the Chisholm Trail
DUNCAN, Okla. (PRWEB) October 17, 2018 -- The Chisholm Trail Ram Prairie Circuit Finals Rodeo will be back for its sixth year in Duncan, Oklahoma October 18th-20th. Each performance starts at 7:30pm nightly at the Stephens County Fair and Expo. Advanced Tickets are available for purchase at Crutcher’s Western Wear in Duncan and Lawton $12 for Adults, $8 for Kids and 3 and under are Free. Tickets at the door are $15 for Adults and $10 for Kids.
Cowboys and Cowgirls from Oklahoma, Kansas and Nebraska will converge at the Stephens County Arena for their chance to become the 2018 Prairie Circuit Champion. The top 12 Cowboys and Cowgirls in the Prairie Circuit will compete in their respective events including Bareback Riding, Steer Wrestling, Team Roping, Saddle Bronc Riding, Tie Down Roping, Barrel Racing and Bull Riding. Also, at 9am on Friday morning the top 15 Steer Ropers will compete.
The Friday Night performance is the annual Tough Enough To Wear Pink Night. All fans, contestants and event personnel is encouraged to wear pink in support of Breast Cancer Awareness. The Saturday Night performance is dedicated to our local Police Departments, Fire Departments, Sheriff Departments and EMTs for the Back the Blue Night.
In addition to the rodeo performances, the Chisholm Trail Prairie Circuit Rodeo Committee hosts the Rodeo Preview Day for area 4th Graders on Wednesday October 18th. The students are invited to interact with rodeo contestants, rodeo clowns, rodeo queens and rodeo personnel. They will learn the sport of rodeo, the well-being of livestock, as well as the role of the rodeo queens and stock contractors.
Following the Steer Roping on Friday morning, there will be Cowboy Church hosted by D.J. Jorgensen. All rodeo fans are welcomed to attend!
On Saturday, the volunteer rodeo committee hosts the WPRA Brunch and Awards at 10am in the Territory Hall at the Stephens County Fairgrounds. This year the special guess is 1977 WPRA World Champion Barrel Racer, Jackie Jo Perrin. All are welcome to attend this annual event.
The Chisholm Trail Ram Prairie Circuit Finals Rodeo Committee prides itself in producing a world-class PRCA rodeo event for Duncan and the Stephens County Area. As part of their commitment to our community, a portion of the proceeds from the rodeo event will go directly to the Taylor Le Norman / McCasland Cancer Center and Relay for Life of Stephens County. In total, the Chisholm Trail Prairie Circuit Rodeo Committee has donated over $30,000 to local organizations.
