APT Announces Asset Strategy Library (ASL) Release 13 (R13)
Corrales, NM (PRWEB) February 18, 2014 -- Asset Performance Technologies, Inc. (APT) announced today that it has released the Asset Strategy Library (ASL) Release 13 (R13) to its customers and partners. R13 includes 25 new (flexible, emergency response and combustion gas turbine equipment) and 4 updated (valve, I&C) asset types. According to Mark Benak, CEO, “We are rather excited to announce APT’s continued commitment to grow the world’s largest library of how equipment fails and what to do about it. Most operating companies can benefit from this technical basis for maintenance. We’ve captured the knowledge and wisdom from an aging workforce and organized them for use by our customers. And responding to requests from these customers, the ASL will be available from the cloud in a subscription format later this year.”
The APT Asset Strategy Library (ASL) traces its origins to the U.S. power industry. The APT ASL has also been used successfully in the Oil & Gas, Mining, Pulp & Paper, Food & Beverage, and other asset-intensive industries. R13 includes 501 asset strategy templates, comprising:
37,000 Failure Modes (FMEA)
3,400 PM Tasks and Intervals (PM Templates)
114,000 As-Found Reportable Conditions (Failure Codes)
that address a broad range of infrastructure equipment (e.g. pumps, valves, motors, and compressors) and are universally applicable to nearly all industries.
The ASL R13 is the world’s most comprehensive library of asset strategies for industrial equipment. It is purpose built and not simply a collection of results from single Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) analyses that are dependent on the particular operating context of the equipment under analysis. Rather, the ASL knowledge was captured from Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), representing over 20,000 man-years of experience, across multiple plants and industries, over the past 18 years. The ASL failure modes and PM templates (asset strategies) are valid for the complete range of known operating conditions. With PM task effectiveness mapped to each failure mode, the ASL sets a new standard for APM and PMO in asset-intensive industries. The ASL is also available in the Meridium APM and Bentley Assetwise products.
