LAWRENCE, Kan. , July 11, 2022 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Allen Press, Inc. and TNQ Technologies are pleased to announce a new partnership.
Beginning in early 2023, Allen Press will offer TNQ's Proof Central to its scholarly publishing clients. Proof Central is a full-featured HTML-based proof review and editing platform for use by authors, editors, and publishers. Proof Central gives publishers a much more efficient author-editing process which will lead to a faster publishing cycle.
"Our clients want an alternative to PDF article proofing and Proof Central gives authors the new online editing abilities that they've been asking for," said Mark Kohlhase, CEO, Allen Press. "We've worked with TNQ's team in the past on composition services and we are very pleased to renew our relationship," he said.
"Proof Central was designed with the needs of the author community at its core, which arguably makes it the best available HTML proofing platform in the STM industry. TNQ and Allen Press share the same ethos for quality and customer satisfaction, and it is a pleasure to partner with Allen Press to offer Proof Central to their scholarly publishing clients" said Abhigyan Arun, CEO, TNQ Technologies.
Current usage data across TNQ's customers suggest that Proof Central, which is used by 3,200 journals and 5,000 book projects every year, speeds up the author-editing cycle by as much as 40% owing to its intuitive design and author-centric features. About 50% of the articles are proofed by authors within 24 hours and 70% are returned within 48 hours - a significant improvement over traditional PDF proofing. To date, over 2.5 million articles and book chapters have been processed through Proof Central, making it the most widely used online proofing system for the scholarly community.
The addition of Proof Central to Allen Press' publishing toolkit will allow publishers to take advantage of a new streamlined composition workflow called AgilePubTM in early 2023.
Allen Press publisher services already includes partnerships with Aries for PeerTrack article submission and Silverchair for Meridian online hosting.
"TNQ and Proof Central enable Allen Press to offer another best-in-class resource to independent scholarly publishers," Kohlhase added.
