Mentor Coaching Gets High Marks As “Game-changer” Addition to CDC Certified Divorce Coach® Program
Tampa, FL (PRWEB) April 30, 2014 -- “Mentor coaching was one of the highlights of the CDC program. Working one-on-one with an experienced Divorce Coach to practice my skills using the tools that I learned in class was an invaluable experience. I was able to get immediate feedback which I could use to improve my value as a coach.” According to Karen Bigman, founder of The Divorcierge and recent graduate of the CDC Certified Divorce Coach Training and Certification program.
Deborah Thurmon agrees. “I have gotten so much out of my coaching with the mentor coach – someone who is beyond where you are and can cut to the chase and help you in a different way. I got so much out of my sessions that I was just blown away. It has been very positive.”
Tracy Callahan, MA, a certified family and divorce mediator and founder of her own mediation practice Mediating-Matters LLC will be adding divorce coaching to her existing practice so she has an additional perspective on the business value of mentor coaching: “It was so valuable to have constructive feedback from an experienced coach especially at the beginning of the program; and it offers wonderful opportunities to talk about business philosophies and practices with a coach who already has a practice established and to ask the question: "What do you wish you had done differently?"
The Mentor Coaches give their time on a volunteer basis for several reasons which include supporting the community of divorce coaches and honing their own skills. The CDC Mentor Coaches come from a variety of backgrounds – 3 are certified family mediators, 1 provides parenting education, 2 focus on helping clients become financially healthy, 1 provides support in the client-attorney relationship, and 1 comes from another hemisphere – New Zealand. All are committed to changing the face of divorce by helping people through the rough spots in their divorce.
