EduKick Manchester Partners with Football League Founding Member Accrington Stanley FC
Manchester, England (PRWEB) November 05, 2014 -- EduKick Manchester Education & Football Academy announced this week a new strategic partnership with Accrington Stanley Football Club, one of the oldest football clubs in England and one of the founding members of the football league.
Head of recruitment at Accrington Stanley FC, Mr. Dave Bailey, and EduKick Manchester officials have worked together in football and education before, while Mr. Bailey was with Bolton Wanderers Football Club and have always valued their business relationship. Through Mr. Bailey and his new position at Accrington Stanley FC, the EduKick Manchester student-footballers will receive a fantastic insight into the world of English football, from one of the oldest clubs in the world.
Accrington Stanley, one of only 12 clubs in 1888 to form the inaugural 1888 football league, have had a tough time throughout history, having had a spell where the club was closed due to difficulties and falling through the leagues. However, after reforming in 1968, the club established themselves once again in English football and started to move up through the local non-league set up to the national non-league set up. Then in 2005 they won promotion back into the football league, they remain in league two to this day.
Known as ‘the club that will never die’ Accrington Stanley is a traditional local town football club, but now with big ideas to progress in football. The newly announced partnership with EduKick Manchester Football Academy is a small example of the club's newly found enthusiasm, fostered through the well-traveled Mr. Bailey, to expand, seek out new relationships and scout locally and abroad to provide "foot in the door" professional football opportunities for young talented players.
EduKick Manchester Academy Director, Mick Brennan said this; "The link EduKick Manchester now has with Accrington Stanley will see their football coaches delivering guest sessions to the EduKick players, include visits to their grounds to watch the first team matches, scouting of EduKick players, and involve guest speakers visiting our lads at our school. In fact, Mr. Bailey himself recently conducted a questions & answer chat with the EduKick Manchester lads about possible pro football opportunities for those who show potential to train and trial with the club."
Throughout the season EduKick Manchester will play the Accrington Stanley Academy youth teams as well. The first fixture happened in late October, where a fantastic match between Accrington and EduKick was played which showed the EduKick players what level they will need in order to reach the academy level. It was also a great opportunity for Accrington`s Head of Recruitment, Mr. Dave Bailey to scout the EduKick players first hand to see who may have the ability to progress to the next level.
And after the match, EduKick & Accrington Stanley had their first success in their new partnership, with EduKick footballer, Lawrence Hanna (17 year old from Australia) being invited to Accrington to train with the academy squad and showcase his ability to the club`s coaches there.
