GRACEDBYGRIT Foundation Announces Scholarship Fund For Female Athletes
Sponsored by fitness training brand, HYLETE, scholarship recipient to receive $5,000
SAN DIEGO, Jan. 30, 2020 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- GRACEDBYGRIT, a foundation that recognizes and supports young women who participate in athletics, is now accepting applications for the GRACEDBYGRIT Scholarship Fund. A celebration of academics and athletics, the foundation will award a $5,000 scholarship to a female athlete pursuing collegiate sports who has demonstrated GRIT by overcoming obstacles and adversity in her personal life.
GRACEDBYGRIT recognizes that sports and athletics can positively affect the personal development of young women, as well as, encourage goal setting, leadership, and teamwork.
The foundation is sponsored by HYLETE, a community built, backed, and driven fitness training brand. As part of its charity support program, HYLETE donates one percent (1%) of all women's product line sales to the Foundation, recognizing the importance athletics can have in a young woman's life, and potentially lead to greater professional success.
"We're thrilled to be able to offer a scholarship opportunity to female athletes who are pursuing higher education and sports," said Kate Nowlan, president of the GRACEDBYGRIT Foundation and VP of HYLETE Experience. "Often times, these young women are faced with financial constraints that limit their opportunities, despite their hard work and relentless pursuit in both academics and athletics. We hope that the Scholarship Fund alleviates at least one of the obstacles that female athletes face when pursuing collegiate sports. We also know that 96% of women who have a job in the C-suite participated in athletics at a collegiate level, so this is one small way we can contribute toward women in leadership."
To be eligible, applicants must be a female athlete pursuing collegiate-level sports, be a high school senior, have a minimum 3.0 GPA, and be a U.S. citizen. Applications will be judged on the applicant's personal GRIT essay, detailing a "gritty moment" in their life that forced them to learn what they are truly made of and a personal GRACE video that showcases a "gritty moment" that has given them grace.
Applications are accepted until March 15 and winners will be announced on April 15.
