GrocerKey Names Todd Michaud Board Chairman As It Moves to Turbocharge Its Grocery eCommerce Growth
Madison, Wisconsin (PRWEB) August 10, 2017 -- GrocerKey (http://www.grocerkey.com), the software and operations leader in grocery eCommerce, with the industry’s leading retailer-branded technology solution, today announced it has named Todd P. Michaud as Chairman of the Board.
“We’re delighted to welcome Todd to the team as we commit to aggressively grow the business,”
said Jeremy Neren, CEO and cofounder. “We work in a $1 billion-plus per year market opportunity in North America alone, and we want to lead the transition that is taking place as retailers transform from purely in-store customer service to become omni-channel retailers.”
Todd Michaud brings extensive leadership experience. He currently serves as president & CEO of Transformational Retail Technologies Inc. in Auburn, California. Previously, he was Global VP and General Manager of NCR Corporation's Global Enterprise, Merchandising & Supply Chain (GEMS) business unit. He joined NCR when it acquired Retalix, an industry-leading software company that served retailers. At Retalix, Michaud was president of Retalix USA. Before Retalix, he was president & CEO of Revionics, a VC-backed, SaaS-based provider of predictive big data analytics. Michaud was also the president and chief marketing officer of IDS LLC, a successful enterprise software company focused on the food industry that was acquired by Retalix. Michaud began his career with 16 formative years at the IBM Corporation.
Michaud’s role at GrocerKey will be to help advise the CEO and executive team, as well as to nurture shareholder confidence and assist in fundraising from additional investors. GrocerKey has raised $3.25 million since its founding.
Michaud joins GrocerKey as it continues to report success with ShopWoodmans.com, the eCommerce grocery business of its partner and customer Woodman’s Markets, which is the largest independent grocery chain in the state of Wisconsin. It is a $1.7-billion dollar business with 16 large brick & mortar stores throughout Wisconsin and northern Illinois. “In 2016 and 2017 to date, we have successfully fulfilled approximately 50,000 orders with little marketing spend,” said Neren. “Woodman's achieved profitability with ShopWoodmans.com less than a year after it launched, and continues to be profitable month after month.”
GrocerKey launched eCommerce for Woodman’s with local pickup and delivery in Madison, WI in 2015. It has since expanded by adding local pickup and delivery in Milwaukee, WI, and is adding pickup and delivery at all remaining Woodman’s locations in 2017.
During 2016, GrocerKey added ten active retailers besides Woodman’s, including three with $1B+ in annual revenues, and six grocery retail chains with ten or more stores. In 2017, it is set to announce that several more well-known grocery retail brands will sign on as GrocerKey customers – all large chains throughout the U.S.
