The Hispanic Alliance for Career Enhancement (HACE), a Chicago-based national nonprofit dedicated to the employment, development, and advancement of current and aspiring Latino professionals, is proud to announce its new advanced leadership program, ALZA--a program designed to fuel the potential of Latino professionals.
CHICAGO, April 5, 2023 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- The Hispanic Alliance for Career Enhancement (HACE), a Chicago-based national nonprofit dedicated to the employment, development, and advancement of current and aspiring Latino professionals, is proud to announce its new advanced leadership program, ALZA--a program designed to fuel the potential of Latino professionals. Sponsored by JPMorgan Chase, HACE is proud to welcome 15 JPMC leaders as part of the program's inaugural cohort of participants. The program provides guidance and support to help leaders obtain transformational leadership skills to help them achieve their professional goals, including executive roles. The effort will provide the inaugural cohort of senior leaders with personalized sessions and coaching led by subject matter experts.
The culturally relevant program offers in-person and virtual sessions and assists Latino leaders in understanding their psychological preferences and how these impact leadership competencies to prepare them for advanced leadership roles, and while in tandem with their supervisors and C-suite level engagement. The Spanish word "alza" means "rise" in English.

The program is supported by JPMorgan Chase's Advancing Hispanics & Latinos (AHL) launched in 2021 to promote the success of Hispanic and Latino communities both inside the firm and out. Through AHL, the firm is providing opportunities for Hispanics and Latinos in four key areas: careers and skills, financial health and wealth creation, business growth and entrepreneurship and community development. This collaboration is part of the ongoing efforts led by JPMorgan Chase to drive inclusive growth and close the racial wealth gap for underserved communities including Hispanic and Latino.
Those who are involved in the ALZA program include the following inaugural cohort participants, HACE and JPMorgan Chase representatives: Marlene González, Lisa Maleck, Ignacio Martinez, Michael Saldida, Susan Oropesa, Joe Garcia, Angelica Valencia, Daniel Salazar, Monique Lopez, Kareli Lizárraga, Patricia Mota, Henry Seiplax, Sandy Colon, Ivonne Marrero-Rohn, Silvana Montenegro, Renato Mendes da Silva, Erika Roman, Mary Fuentes, Kristin Coleman, and Melinda Ramirez.

As part of this collaboration, JPMorgan Chase will also support HACE's National Leadership to be hosted from Thursday, April 20 to Friday, April 21 at Chicago's Renaissance Hotel Downtown and focused on the advancement of Latino talent in the workforce. Throughout the year, HACE and JPMorgan Chase will also host additional career virtual sessions designed to boost career development for employees at varying stages of their professional journey.
The ALZA program, which kicks off this month and ends in November, uses the Insights©️ Leadership model as its foundation. Participants will understand the eight dimensions of leadership, comprising forty facets, promoting a holistic approach to leadership development. The program allows leaders to understand personal strengths and challenges in their leadership approach, and how to best apply internally as working towards an executive C-suite level role.
HACE has applied this model, along traditional Latino cultural norms and values, to enhance the self-awareness experience specifically for Latino leaders benefits include participants developing a more insightful and intentional executive presence, networking with a varied group of local leaders and potential mentors, and connecting with world-class coaches and facilitators.
According to the Hispanic Association on Corporate Responsibility 2022 Corporate Inclusion Index, "Latinas represent just under three (3) percent of corporate executives (top three tiers of leadership) and less than 2 percent (1.8%) of board directors." Through this program, HACE seeks to accelerate the advancement of Latino professionals into more senior-level roles and create a stronger pipeline of talent that is reflective of the nation's increasingly diverse populations.
