IMPROVLearning™ Applauds Texas State Legislature's Commitment to Enhancing Road Safety
Encino, California (PRWEB) June 28, 2023 -- IMPROVLearning™, a leading provider of driving safety and driver training programs, commends the Texas State Legislature for its recent efforts to prioritize road safety through the passage of several impactful bills. As reported by the Houston Chronicle, these measures aim to enhance safety regulations and improve driver behavior, contributing to the shared goal of creating safer roads, streets, and highways across the state.
Rep. Erin Gamez, D-Brownsville, introduced House Bill 3126, emphasizing drivers' need to safely return to the original travel lane after passing. Providing clarity on Texas' sometimes confusing left-lane passing laws, the bill ensures a more orderly traffic flow and aims to reduce potential hazards caused by improper lane usage.
House Bill 3558, presented by Rep. Mary Ann Perez, D-Pasadena, tackles crosswalk safety. Seeking to define inconsistencies in the law where drivers must stop when approaching a crosswalk, this bill imposes a clear standard for stopping at marked crosswalks and requires drivers to stop before the crosswalk in areas lacking clear markings. IMPROVLearning believes this legislation will contribute to the protection of pedestrians and enhance overall safety.
Furthermore, IMPROVLearning applauds the symbolic impact of House Bill 2190, also introduced by Rep. Terry Canales. This bill replaces the term "accident" with "collision" in the Texas Transportation Code, emphasizing the avoidable nature of crashes and reinforcing the importance of responsible driving.
This language reflects IMPROV's message about traffic crashes and collisions: "We see eye-to-eye with Texas on this," said IMPROVLearning CEO Gary Alexander. "We never use the term "accident" in our materials either, and for the same reasons."
While some safety-related bills were unsuccessful due to various factors, IMPROVLearning commends the Texas State Legislature for its dedication to addressing the road safety crisis. By acknowledging the need for change and actively supporting legislative initiatives, lawmakers have demonstrated their commitment to reducing roadway fatalities. With initiatives such as the pledge to halve fatalities by 2035 and eliminate road deaths by 2050, it is evident that Texas is moving in the right direction to make its roadways safer for all drivers.
IMPROVLearning remains steadfast in its commitment to promoting safe driving practices and driver education. With years of experience in the industry and utilizing the S.P.I.D.E.R. Method™ for safe driving, IMPROVLearning has empowered millions of drivers with the necessary knowledge and skills to navigate the roads responsibly.
